What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community? It has been a great year for South Shore Habitat with so many projects completed. I think the one that has brought the most pride was the recently completed duplex in Cohasset. It allowed us to take a very small parcel of land and provide homes for two families. It was my first time building a multifamily unit. The bonus, the families knew one another! The support they provided for one another in completing their homes was amazing.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? If you think you can, you are halfway there. The industry is constantly looking for motivated individuals willing to learn the trades, and the pay can be good. Job security and never-ending opportunities to learn and grow are major considerations, and if you come with a background in management, the opportunities to advance are even greater. I hear many women say I am concerned about the work environment. Check out the company first - what is their safety record? Do they have any harassment suits? Also, interview with the site supervisor to get a feel for their working style.

What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity? Spending time with my family, enjoying the shore life and hanging out with my dog named Lager.

Share one fun or unexpected detail about yourself that colleagues might not know. I am in the Softball Hall of Fame – my team won the national championship, and my high school batting average was .718.
