DiPrete Engineering promotes Sheppard, Insana and Barone
Cranston, RI DiPrete Engineering has promoted three team members in recognition of their leadership, technical expertise, and continued contributions to the firm’s growth and long-term success.
Jon Sheppard has been selected for inclusion in DiPrete’s Executive Leadership Program (ELP). Sheppard joined the firm in 2021 after earning his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. As a project engineer, he works with engineers and project managers on conceptual site planning, due diligence, engineering design, regulatory permitting, and construction support for a wide range of projects. His experience includes stormwater management design, drainage analysis, hydraulic modeling, and preparation of regulatory submissions at the local, state, and federal levels. In addition, Sheppard leads the firm’s onboarding program and has played a key role in advancing internal operations through continuous improvement initiatives.
Matt Insana, PLS, has also been promoted into the ELP. Insana has been a valued member of the DiPrete team since 2004 and brings more than two decades of experience in surveying, land development support, and project coordination throughout New England. A senior survey project manager, Insana oversees the preparation of complex land surveys and coordinates closely with engineering staff and clients to support commercial, mixed-use, and redevelopment projects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Hartford and a Geomatics Certificate from the University of Florida and is licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in Rhode Island and New York. In addition to his technical leadership, Insanais a dedicated mentor within the Survey group.
Louie Barone III, P.E., has been promoted to project manager. Barone joined DiPrete in 2021 and holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. He brings extensive experience in site and structural engineering, working on medium- and large-scale residential and commercial developments while guiding clients through complex regulatory and permitting processes. In addition, Barone plays a role in public meetings, construction coordination, mentoring staff, and supporting the firm’s internship and outreach efforts. As an associate in the Executive Leadership Program, he also leads the firm’s networking initiative, helping to strengthen external relationships and support strategic growth.
Company principals emphasized that all three individuals exemplify DiPrete’s core values through their leadership, collaboration, and dedication to excellence. Their promotions come as the firm continues to expand its presence and capabilities across New England.
