Lyrik Back Bay celebrates Marathon Weekend with two new restaurants and Boston Marathon Activations
Boston, MA Lyrik Back Bay is opening of two of the city’s most anticipated restaurants, alongside the arrival of global brands and elite athletes for Marathon Weekend, and hosting a calendar of public programming for April, Lyrik is solidifying its role as a new cultural and culinary hub at the gateway to Back Bay.
April brings the Boston debut of Avra Estiatorio and Rosa y Marigold, five days of Brooks Running’s global Hyperion House experience, a Seaav Marathon Weekend wellness activation and the seasonal return of the Meerkat Mob. These openings build on a mix of culinary and experiential tenants at Lyrik, including Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, Pink Carrot, and George Howell Coffee, alongside brands like Rivian and hospitality anchor citizenM Boston Back Bay.
“This moment represents exactly what we set out to create at Lyrik — a place where exceptional dining, culture, and community come together in a way that feels distinctly Boston with a world-class perspective,” said Peter Sougarides, principal and co-president, Samuels & Associates. “The marquee openings of Avra and Rosa y Marigold mark a significant milestone for Lyrik, alongside the energy of Marathon Weekend and our growing collection of partners. At Samuels & Associates, we believe in curating environments that bring people together, and this is a defining example of that vision in action.”

Restaurant Openings
Avra Estiatorio | The upscale Greek restaurant brand born in New York City is opening its first restaurant in Boston at Lyrik Back Bay on April 15th. Owners Nick Tsoulos and Nick Pashalis are bringing a taste of the Aegean to Back Bay, highlighted by Avra’s signature fish market display featuring Mediterranean seafood flown in daily. Pristine seafood is displayed on ice, allowing guests to select their fish to be grilled, baked in sea salt, or prepared with Mediterranean accents. Located on Lyrik’s second floor, Avra accommodates 250 guests across the main dining room, bar and three private dining spaces. The light-filled interiors feature a salt wall installation composed of crystallized hexagonal panels, Greek amphoras, sculptural olive trees and floor-to-ceiling windows. An indoor-outdoor dining area will offer a seamless transition between indoor and alfresco seating. Avra will open seven days a week for dinner, with lunch and brunch to follow.

Rosa y Marigold | JuanMa Calderón and Maria Rondeau, the chef/filmmaker and architect duo behind New England's acclaimed Peruvian restaurants Celeste, La Royal and Esmeralda, will open Rosa y Marigold, their first Boston-proper restaurant at Lyrik this April. Calderón and Rondeau, who started out welcoming guests for a pop-up at their Cambridge home a decade ago, have created a singular dinner party vibe within their restaurants. Now, joined by friend Lauren Harder and longtime Celeste employee Jose Saravia, the Rosa y Marigold team is bringing their multi-disciplinary approach of focusing not only on the food, but also art, music and design, to enhance the joyous experience of dining. At Rosa y Marigold, Calderón's vibrant Peruvian cuisine is served from an open kitchen, which serves as the heart of the experience. He will offer his signature ceviches and causas alongside anticuchos (grilled skewers), featuring the classic anticucho de corazon (beef heart). Rondeau has designed all the couple’s restaurants, including Rosa y Marigold’s 100-seat setting—their biggest yet. Inspired by Louise Glück’s novel which reads like a fable of infant twin sisters who recognize each other as separate but part of a whole, Rondeau imbued the bar and dining room with a sense of wonder and magic through reflections and lightscapes. In collaboration with Berklee College of Music Rosa y Marigold will host live musicians and DJ sets, showcasing talent in jazz, samba, salsa and Latin fusion. From lunch and brunch through dinner, Rosa y Marigold offers a spirited dining experience every day of the week. More information can be found at rosaymarigold.com.
Public Art
Meerkat Mob – With the arrival of spring, Lyrik welcomes back its playful seasonal installation: the Meerkat Mob. In the wild, meerkats are known for their strong sense of community and always looking out for one another as they take turns standing guard. Much like their real-life counterparts, the Meerkat Mob at Lyrik does the same—popping up as a bright and playful signal that warmer days are ahead, and reminding us of the power of togetherness and community in Back Bay as we welcome the energy of spring.
Double Heart – Double Heart by celebrated Italian-born artist, designer, and architect Gaetano Pesce, is a permanent focal point of Lyrik’s sunset deck and acts as a beacon, a gesture of positivity, love, connection, and community. The final public project conceived during the artist’s lifetime, Double Heart is Pesce’s only permanent sculpture in the United States, anchoring Lyrik and welcoming millions to the city of Boston.
