2026 Ones to Watch - Rising Stars: Joe Levasseur, Hancock Associates
Project Manager & Associate
Hancock Associates
“Since the day he joined our Boston office, Joe has been on a never-ending climb from achieving licensure to becoming a manager, an Associate, and a leader. He still continues to grow his skills by taking continuing education and helps out at Wentworth Institute of Technology, the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and more. There is no plateau or ceiling for Joe!”
What accomplishment or project so far in your career are you most proud of? I am most proud of obtaining my Professional Licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor in Mass. (2024). This was a culmination of years of work and education as well as plenty of mentorship from colleagues at Hancock Associates.
What trends or opportunities do you see shaping the future of the industry? From the perspective of a land surveyor, a trend I see shaping the future of commercial real estate is the focus on mixed-use developments that allow for the combination of office and residential units. In densely populated areas like Eastern Massachusetts, this can hopefully provide some much-needed relief of housing shortages. Land surveys provide an essential step in the feasibility and design process of these developments.
