Horvath & Tremblay
“Michael has set himself apart through a relentless commitment to learning and execution. His early focus on underwriting, teaching, and building real market insight reflects a rare level of discipline. Combined with persistence and adaptability, he consistently navigates complex transactions and continues to deliver results in an increasingly competitive environment.”
What inspired you to pursue a career in your industry, and what path brought you to your current role? I’ve always been drawn to the investment side of real estate, but early in my career my mentor Luke introduced me to multifamily investing, which gave me a clear framework for how deals are underwritten and perform. I began underwriting every deal I could and hosted free investment classes to sharpen my knowledge. That curiosity and work ethic led me to Horvath & Tremblay, where strong mentorship helped me grow. Since then, my progress has come down to consistency, discipline, and a commitment to continual improvement.
What trends or opportunities do you see shaping the future of your industry? We’re entering a market where discipline and execution matter more than ever. For years, easy debt masked inefficiencies, but success now depends on strong underwriting, expense control, and realistic business plans. I see major opportunity in repositioning existing assets as new development slows. At the same time, deals are more complex and require persistence and creativity to close. This environment will reward operators who stay patient, adapt, and execute at a high level, creating a clear separation from the rest.
