What inspired you to pursue a career in your industry, and what path brought you to your current role? Ever since I was little, I have always enjoyed puzzle-piecing and expressing myself creatively. Interior design allows me to apply these skills to the built environment. I have a strong interest for how interior spaces can impact people’s daily lives. Creating environments that influence mood, comfort, and overall experience makes the work that I am doing more meaningful. The ability to think from a user’s point of view inspires me to create unique and engaging spaces.
Who has been a mentor or influential figure in your career, and what is the most valuable advice they have shared with you? The most influential figure in my career is my college thesis professor. She encouraged me to think outside the box and not let software stop me from creating powerful designs. She was deeply invested in each of her students and took the time to understand our ideas, often challenging us to push them further. Being her student all four years of college and ending with her as my thesis professor was a full circle moment. I am very thankful for her guidance. It helped me grow into a more confident and creative designer.
