Two Pence Market to open food/retail hub in Milton historic bank

Milton, MA From the team behind Steel & Rye, comes Two Pence Market, a new neighborhood hub for fresh food, coffee, curated retail and gathering. Opening this summer in a historic bank building located at 2 Eliot St., the market is poised to generate excitement in the heart of town – breathing new life into a long-vacant landmark while maintaining charm and history.
Led by restaurateur Dan Kerrigan and co-owner and culinary director Brendan Joy, the talented duo behind Steel & Rye, in partnership with local developer JD Wild of The ELEVATED Cos., the Milton-based team brings together deep local roots and a shared vision for creating a space that blends a thoughtful approach to food and beverage with meaningful community connection.
“We wanted to create a space that feels like it’s always been a part of the neighborhood,” said Kerrigan. “Whether you stop in for a quick coffee, a meal, or items for a dinner party, Two Pence is meant to add to the everyday rhythm of Milton.”
“Restoring this historic building with purpose was a priortiy for us,” said Wild. “Two Pence honors Milton’s past while creating a welcoming space for residents and visitors alike to connect, shop and meet throughout the day.”
Two Pence Market will feature a curated mix of quick-service, house-made offerings including bagels, farm-fresh produce, pasture-raised proteins, grain bowls, salads, locally roasted coffee, smoothies, and more throughout the entire day. Guests will also be able to explore the building’s original bank vault, transformed into a retail space within Two Pence, offering a selection of wine and spirits. Executive chef Alison Hearn will oversee the market’s culinary program alongside Joy, while also managing day-to-day kitchen operations.
A walk-up window will provide access for takeout, ice cream, and other seasonal treats. Two Pence’s space will include both indoor and outdoor seating, a fireplace, and two patios – one featuring a pergola-covered corner setting.
“With Two Pence, we’re focusd on making and offering great food that really fits into people’s everday lives,” said Joy. “It’s ingredient driven, but designed to be easier, more spontaneous and convenient.”
