Stack & Schmear opens at High Street Place

April 24, 2026 - Owners Developers & Managers

Boston, MA High Street Place Food Hall welcomes Stack & Schmear, the new sandwich-driven deli concept from the team behind High Street Place mainstays Wheelhouse and Haley Jane’s. Stack & Schmear marks the team’s third concept at the food hall, where they have operated since it first opened four years ago.

Rooted in the group’s straightforward philosophy of elevating the classics, Stack & Schmear focuses on fresh spreads and sauces prepared in-house daily, high-quality meats and products, and bread baked fresh each morning.

“When you think about lunch, sandwiches are always a staple,” says Abby O’Donnell, owner and operator of Wheelhouse, Haley Jane’s and Stack & Schmear. “At Wheelhouse and Haley Jane’s, we’ve always focused on doing one thing really well and putting our own spin on it. Stack & Schmear follows that same philosophy. We’re keeping the classics people crave, but enhancing them with fresh-baked bread, house-made sauces and high-quality ingredients you can truly taste.”

Stack & Schmear’s breakfast centers around bagels delivered fresh every morning from Wicked Bagels, served with house-made spreads. Signature bagel sandwiches include Tony’s Favorite, the classic Sunrise Sandwich, as well as the Lox Rox. The breakfast menu also features other sweet and savory classics and will soon incorporate a variety of Buttermilk Pancake Stacks. For lunch, signature sandwiches range from the Mayor Moo to the Italian Stallion. Additional standouts include the Gobi Grinder and a fully customizable Craft-a-Stack option.

“Abby and her team have built a reputation at High Street Place for perfecting the classics,” said Lauren Johnson, senior marketplace manager at High Street Place Food Hall. “Stack & Schmear is a natural evolution of that approach: a deli counter concept rooted in nostalgia, but reimagined through thoughtful ingredients and creative execution.”

Now open daily at High Street Place Food Hall (100 High St., Boston), Stack & Schmear brings its sandwich-driven menu to the heart of Downtown. Seasonal features and limited-time specials will roll out in the months ahead.
