What inspired you to pursue a career in your industry, and what path brought you to your current role? I was introduced to construction at a young age, spending summers working for my parents’ landscape construction company. That experience gave me a strong appreciation for hands-on work and how projects come together. Working alongside general contractors on larger commercial projects sparked my interest in construction management, where I saw how complex jobs are coordinated at scale. This led me to pursue a degree in real estate development, helping me understand the bigger picture behind how and why projects get built, and ultimately shaping the path that brought me to where I am today.
What trends or opportunities do you see shaping the future of your industry? The largest trends we are seeing throughout the construction industry are technology and AI, transforming every phase of how we build. In preconstruction, AI can analyze drawings and produce accurate takeoffs, while virtual design tools allow teams to walk through projects before they are built, improving early decision making. During construction, AI supports scheduling, identifies conflict, and helps keep projects on track.
Onsite, technology streamlines site management and coordination. As a young professional, it is exciting to grow alongside these advancements and see the industry evolve.
