June 22, 2026 - Brokerage

Providence, RI Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty brokered the sale of 6 Olive St., on the city’s East Side, for $2.2 million. The buyers were represented by The Sweeney Advisory, sales associates with Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty. Jim DeRentis of Residential Properties represented the sellers.

According to data from the Multiple Listing Service, this is the fourth highest single-family sale in the city for 2026. The Sweeney Advisory has participated in six of the top eight single-family sales in the municipality year-to-date.

Located in College Hill, this restored 1850 Greek Revival blends historic grandeur with refined modern living. Elegant entertaining spaces, a chef’s kitchen, and an indoor-outdoor flow open to a private brick patio and landscaped grounds. A primary suite, flexible multi-level living, and a walkable location near universities and downtown complete this offering.

“6 Olive St. is a rare gem — a masterfully renovated 1850 Greek Revival on College Hill that perfectly captures what today’s luxury buyer is looking for: historic character, modern amenities, and an unbeatable walkable location,” says Michael Sweeney. “This sale is a testament to the continued strength and sophistication of Providence’s high-end market, which is increasingly attracting buyers who recognize the city’s extraordinary value compared to other major New England markets.”
