KBE Building Corp. begins work on Residence Inn by Marriott at Steelpointe Harbor

Bridgeport, CT KBE Building Corp. has begun construction on a new waterfront Residence Inn by Marriott at Steelpointe Harbor, serving as construction manager at risk for the highly anticipated hospitality development. Located along the city’s revitalized waterfront, the project marks another significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of the city’s harbor district and underscores continued investment in economic growth, tourism, and community development.

Part of the mixed-use Steelpointe Harbor development, the extended-stay hotel will feature 142 guestrooms, ground-floor amenity spaces, and an exterior sports court, providing guests with a modern and engaging hospitality experience. The hotel will offer direct access to one of Connecticut’s premier waterfront destinations and is designed to meet the growing demand for accommodations in the region, supporting both business and leisure travelers while enhancing Bridgeport’s hospitality offerings.

Upon completion, the Residence Inn will reintroduce hotel lodging to Bridgeport for the first time since 2022, strengthening the city’s ability to attract visitors, support local businesses, and accommodate regional economic activity. The project is expected to further elevate Bridgeport’s profile as a destination for tourism, commerce, and waterfront recreation.

The Residence Inn represents KBE’s third project at Steelpointe Harbor, building on a successful partnership that includes The August apartment community and the Steelpointe Car Wash. Together, these developments reflect a shared vision for creating a vibrant mixed-use waterfront district that blends residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, and recreational amenities.
