As Boston celebrates America 250, Harborfest returns with three days of events highlighting the city’s history and waterfront. Seaport offers excellent viewing opportunities for several Harborfest traditions, including the July 2 Harborfest Fireworks over Boston Harbor and the July 4 USS Constitution Turnaround Sail, when “Old Ironsides” leaves Charlestown Navy Yard and turns in the harbor as part of an annual Independence Day tradition.
Visitors can also walk to nearby Griffin’s Wharf, the site of the Boston Tea Party, or enjoy the harbor from Fan Pier while taking in the weekend’s festivities. Combined with Seaport’s restaurants, public spaces, and waterfront location, Harborfest offers a unique way to experience both historic and modern Boston.

This summer, Boston will host Sail Boston 2026, a premier maritime celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The multi-day event will bring dozens of international tall ships to Boston Harbor, with vessels docked in both Seaport and the Charlestown Navy Yard.
Throughout the week, Seaport will serve as a key vantage point and gathering place for visitors, offering waterfront viewing opportunities, dining, and programming that complements the citywide celebration.
