What trends or shifts have stood out most to you so far this year within your industry?
What’s really stood out this year, at E.M. Duggan is in our service division. Clients’ expectations have shifted they are looking for simplicity and uniformity; they want one service team that can handle everything, HVAC, plumbing, controls, fire protection. One call, and it gets taken care of.
At the same time, issues just don’t stay in one trade now. Everything’s connected, so you usually must step back and look at the whole system to understand what’s causing the problem. Because of that, Duggan Mechanical Services has moved towards working in an integrated way. That translates to less back and forth, fewer hand-offs, just getting to the issue quicker. There’s also more focus on staying ahead of problems with maintenance and planning, instead of constantly reacting and that translates into good experiences for our customers.
