Corderman & Company completes buildout of 7,500 s/f health and wellness center at South Station Tower

July 10, 2026 - Construction Design & Engineering

Boston, MA Corderman & Company recently completed the buildout of an exclusive 7,500 s/f health and wellness center spanning the 9th and 10th floors of South Station Tower. The project has run in conjunction with four other distinct buildouts managed by the Corderman team in this iconic new building, including the Marketplace, Signature Bar, Living Room, and Great Room, all of which are set to wrap up this summer.

The Corderman team consisted of principal David Corderman, superintendent Steve Mendes, assistant project managers Emily Thornton and Tyler Corderman, laborer Pat Casey, director of field operations Dave MacNeil, and the firm’s Corderman Carpentry division, whose craftsmanship and attention to detail continue to set Corderman-built spaces apart.

Corderman & Company worked closely with real estate developer Hines, architect Visnick & Caulfield, and engineering consultant Cosentini Associates on the South Station health and wellness buildout. While the firm’s history with Visnick dates back to the inception of Corderman over two decades ago, the team found themselves in partnership with Hines much more recently. Corderman was fortunate to be engaged for the 2023 buildout of the Hines Leasing Gallery.

Just across the street from South Station Tower, this showroom offered prospective tenants a glimpse into what their residences could look like. The South Station health and wellness center is defined by an interconnecting staircase, spacious workout areas, and floor-to-ceiling windows that mirror wall coverings just as tall, all of which contribute to an open atmosphere that extends and expands upwards. Each element was designed and crafted thoughtfully, with the end-user experience in mind.

The majority of this team also delivered the exceptional buildout of the new Rowes Wharf Health Club just last year, and Corderman & Company has provided construction management services for a number of other amenity and fitness spaces throughout the city. This portfolio includes multiple Equinox locations, a fitness center and studio at 290 Congress Street for BXP, and amenity and fitness centers at both One Financial Center and 99 High Street, among others.

Featuring a reception area, an array of equipment strategically placed throughout both floors for convenience and comfort, a light-filled studio for classes and private sessions, and locker rooms and saunas, this health and wellness center achieves a level of luxury that exudes refinement and performance, creating a seamless experience for building tenants.

So much more than just a “gym,” the new South Station health and wellness center exceeds expectations by delivering a space that is hospitality-driven, luxury-infused, and at the pinnacle of both design and functionality. Corderman & Company is grateful for the opportunity to continue contributing to the transformation of South Station Tower and is proud to have played a role in bringing another world-class amenity to one of Boston’s most anticipated developments.
