Coldwell Banker brokers sale of 6 Golf Cottage Way for $1.4 million

Mattapoisett, MA 6 Golf Cottage Way sold for $1.4 million to a family who have been long-time members of the Bay Club.
Stephen Lynch, an accredited commercial associate with Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT, and Laura Severino, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty in Marion, served as the listing agents for the property
The Golf Cottages at the Bay Club is a collection of 12 townhomes set within the Bay Club’s 625-acre Bay Club grounds – one of only two Certified Silver Audubon Signature Sanctuaries in Mass.
The residence at 6 Golf Cottage Way offers 3,250 s/f of living space and features natural light, high-end finishes, and views of the Bay Club’s community golf course.
The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home also highlights beautiful private views of the 13th fairway and 14th hole, and was one of the first of four townhomes completed; the remaining eight are expected to be completed in the next two months.
The townhome’s kitchen was designed for both style and functionality. 6 Golf Cottage Way also features outdoor living with a balcony, composite decks and screened porch, as well as a two-car garage.
Also within the last two months, new trees have been planted in the neighborhood. Currently 12 to 14 ft., the trees are expected to reach as high as 40 ft.
Together with veteran developer Winthrop Sargent, the team demonstrates a shared focus on community, comfort, and refined design to their latest development.
The Bay Club has an Audubon sanctuary with championship golf, a sports and fitness complex, and fine dining. Members come from all over the Northeast.
Sargent, the founder and principal of Winthrop Capital Advisors and former CEO and chairman of the Plymouth & Brockton St. Railway Company, also developed the Shag Bark Circle village at the Bay Club in 2019, a community of 32 homes ranging in size from 1,800 to 3,500 s/f, many of which are adjacent to one of the club’s fairways.
Sargent is known for developing residential projects that emphasize refined design and quality of construction, giving his communities a unique edge over other South Coast developments.
“It’s exciting to see the community develop within the Golf Cottages,” said Sargent. “The neighborhood is relaxed, serene, and beautiful, and more and more people are beginning to take notice.”
