HYM Investment Group and city of Revere celebrate opening of The Amp at Suffolk Downs
Revere, MA The HYM Investment Group LLC and the city of Revere celebrated the official grand opening of The Amp at Suffolk Downs, a new 600-person-capacity outdoor amphitheater and open space located at 125 Salt St. The Amp marks a milestone in the transformative 161-acre Suffolk Downs redevelopment, as one of the first permanent parks and public spaces to deliver to the site. Designed to provide infrastructure that is both sustainable, resilient, and welcoming to the broader community, The Amp will serve as a gathering space for Beachmont Square residents, neighbors, and visitors alike.
Totaling 1.5 acres, The Amp is envisioned as a year-round destination with active programming including live performances, cultural events, and neighborhood gatherings, further activating the growing Beachmont Square neighborhood and expanding permanent open space at Suffolk Downs.
In addition to serving as a key open space for Suffolk Downs, The Amp also functions as an important resiliency and stormwater water quality asset. Situated less than half a mile from the Atlantic Ocean and adjacent to Sales Creek, The Amp’s water basin incorporates a smart stormwater management system with real-time monitoring and automated flow controls that actively manages stormwater runoff before it is discharged to Sales Creek. The system is designed to temporarily capture, treat, and regulate runoff from surrounding areas, improving water quality by reducing sediments and pollutants entering the creek. In addition, the basin has been sized to store peak rainfall events and gradually release water over time, helping to reduce localized flooding risks and lessen the burden on downstream drainage infrastructure during major storm events.

The Amp’s official opening coincides with Suffolk Downs’ 2026 Summer Series, an exciting lineup of free events running Thursday and Friday evenings from June through September. The venue will be Revere’s new home for music, set to host five live performances throughout Summer Series. The Amp will host other concerts this summer such as a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the Beatles’ historic 1966 concert at Suffolk Downs on August 7, performed by 4EverFab Beatles Band, as well as a funk and disco night by Booty Vortex on September 11.
The other Summer Series events as well as Blue Line Flex, a rotating series of free, outdoor fitness classes spanning everything from yoga and Pilates to boxing, HIIT, and cardio dance, will be held at The Yard @ Beachmont Square, adjacent to The Amp.

In 2017, Suffolk Downs, located in both East Boston and Revere along two MBTA Blue Line Stops, was purchased by HYM and its investors with a vision to create a welcoming neighborhood designed around new ways of living and working. Today, the 161-acre site at Suffolk Downs is being reborn as a new urban district with a mix of uses and offerings connected and supported by public open space, neighborhood retail, and civic spaces. Suffolk Downs will deliver 5.2 million s/f of life science and office space, 10.15 million s/f of residential space, 450,000 s/f of retail space, 400,000 s/f of hotel space and over 40 acres of open space. Phase 1 of the redevelopment broke ground in May 2022 on the Revere side of the site and the first building, Amaya, delivered in 2024. The second multifamily building at Suffolk Downs, Portico, officially broke ground in 2025 and will deliver 473 units of housing to the Revere community upon completion.
