2026 Industrial Review Spotlight - Featured Project: Shared Services Operations Facility

Milford, NH Hitchiner Manufacturing partnered with PROCON to design and construct a new 57,000 s/f Shared Services Operations Facility at its Elm Street Campus. Completed in August 2025, the project represents another significant investment in advanced manufacturing, strengthening Hitchiner’s operational capabilities while positioning the company for continued growth in the aerospace, defense, automotive, and commercial industries. The project overview supports Hitchiner’s long-term investment in employees, customers, and the community. 

Designed and built using PROCON’s fully integrated design-build approach, the new facility consolidates several value-added services that were previously dispersed throughout multiple buildings. Bringing these operations together significantly improves workflow efficiency, enhances quality control, streamlines material movement, and creates a more collaborative environment for employees. The facility enhances Hitchiner’s Elm Street Campus, allowing the company to support the full value stream for finished investment-casting-based aerospace components while improving responsiveness to customer needs and future production demands. 

From the earliest stages of planning, the PROCON project team worked closely with Hitchiner to understand the specialized manufacturing processes, equipment requirements, and long-term operational objectives that would shape the building’s design. The result is a highly integrated industrial facility that combines flexible production support spaces with modern work environments capable of adapting to evolving technologies and manufacturing processes. Design solutions focused on operational efficiency, employee collaboration, safety, and future expansion while maintaining the high standards expected within advanced manufacturing environments. The facility was carefully coordinated around specialized equipment and complex operational needs.
