Wingate Living begins transformation of Wingate Residences at Pleasant Bay

August 28, 2026 - Construction Design & Engineering

Brewster, MA Wingate Living has begun the transformation of Wingate Residences at Pleasant Bay, unveiling the newly renovated model unit for the senior living community in Cape Cod.

Wingate welcomed guests for an open house celebrating the completed residences and the design vision brought to life be renowned interior designer Elizabeth Markel of Markel Interiors.

Markel, whose portfolio spans Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard to New York, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, London and Paris, sought to create a space that feels distinctly connected to its Cape Cod setting while bringing a fresh, sophisticated approach to senior living. The result balances refined design with the warmth, comfort and functionality of a true home.

The transformation will touch all 59 Independent and Assisted Living apartments, along with the community’s dining room, pub, movie theater, fitness center and shared spaces. The residences are open and welcoming new residences.

The project represents Wingate’s broader investment in the future of senior living on Cape Cod, with spaces designed to support its LiveWell philosophy and foster wellness, connection and engagement.

As part of the open house, Wingate also introduced two new members of the Pleasant Bay leadership team: Julie Decoteau, RN, DNP, CADL, as executive director, and Devon Gallivan as marketing director. Both bring extensive senior living experience and long-standing ties to the Cape Cod community.
