Lauring Construction completes renovations and upgrades to Fisher Museum at Harvard Forest

Petersham, MA Lauring Construction, a third-generation construction management firm, has completed a comprehensive upgrade and improvement project for the Fisher Museum at Harvard Forest.

The Fisher Museum was established in 1941 to provide information on forest ecology, landscape history, and land conservation and management. Today, it welcomes visitors from near and far who enjoy the multitude of exhibits, dioramas, and recreational trails. The renovations performed at the Fisher Museum addressed a variety of upgrades that will enhance access to the property and improve the guest experience. 

For over three generations, Lauring has served Worcester County across a wide range of specialized construction and renovation projects. The company has overseen multiple cultural and community improvement initiatives throughout the region that enable local facilities to continue serving the residents and visitors alike, including the Stoddard Educational and Visitor Center at Tower Hill Botanical Garden and the Tsotsis Family Academic Center at Assumption University. 

At the Fisher Museum, Lauring’s sitework division installed new underground electric utilities for additional lighting on the property, along with conduits for a planned future installation of EV chargers. Additional projects in this phase included demolition and replacement of an ADA-compliant access ramp, repaving the entire parking lot, miscellaneous concrete site demolition, and drainage improvements.
