BOMA Boston Update - Networking Nite, TOBY Call for Entries and BOMI Courses

Networking Nite at Urban Wild took place on August 26th in Charlestown at Urban Wild. BOMA Boston members and guests joined for a fun evening full of networking, games, apps and refreshments at Urban Wild’s Indoor Patio space. It was a great night to end the BOMA Boston Summer Events!
BOMI: Design, Operation & Maintenance of Building Systems Part II is taking place Thursdays & Fridays - 9/24, 9/25, 10/1, 10/2. This class will be held in person at the BOMA Boston Office from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and will be taught by Michael Gill, senior director, client services, C&W Services. This course provides information property and facility managers will need to make management decisions about various building systems and sites. These decisions will increase occupant safety and comfort while facilitating building efficiency to meet and organization’s business goals. This course is about understanding electrical systems and lighting, elevator maintenance and modernization, and pest and solid waste management. Other areas of interest covered in this course includes security issues, fire and life-safety systems, and energy management concerns. The BOMA Boston Connect Breakfast is taking place on Wednesday, September 30th at Chrome Gym at 2 Center Plaza. The Connect with BOMA Breakfast is designed for current, new, and prospective members to learn more about committee involvement, networking & engagement opportunities, education, and events in an informal networking setting. BOMI: Asset Management is being held Mondays & Wednesdays - 10/5, 10/7, 10/14, 10/19, 10/21, 10/26, 10/28, virtual via Zoom from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon and will be taught by Barry Familetto, president, Stetson Management. The revised edition of Asset Management addresses the needs of contemporary property management professionals, who often function as asset managers or collaborate closely with them. This new powerhouse course is a combination of BOMA International and BOMI’s Asset Management programs and evaluates financial performance, conducts thorough due diligence for asset acquisition and divestment, and provides guidance for handling distressed real estate-owned (REO) properties. Affiliate Members: Those who provide a service to commercial building owners and managers. Examples include window cleaning companies, restoration specialists, construction companies, etc.
