Ones To Watch: Innovators in CRE - Matt Combs, Erland Construction

What innovation or accomplishment are you most proud of? I’m most proud of my involvement in the Prevention Thru Design (PTD) safety initiative on an R&D facility project. We identified more than 122 opportunities to modify the design and eliminate or reduce potential safety hazards. These changes improved safety during construction and for the maintenance team throughout the facility’s lifecycle. This effort helped shift our approach from reacting to hazards to proactively designing them out.
