Local graduate Ramirez earns 2026 Viking Construction Scholarship

Hartford, CT Hartford resident Genesis Ramirez has been awarded the 2026 Viking Construction scholarship. Ramierz, a 2022 graduate of Connecticut River Academy, will use her scholarship to complete her bachelor’s degree in construction management from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). 

Genesis has earned Dean’s List recognition every semester at CCSU and was awarded the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish. She also is an active member of her church’s youth ministry, managing their social media content.

Anthony Gaglio, Jr., of Viking Construction presented the 2026 Viking Construction Scholarship Award during a site visit to Phase IV of the Willow Creek project. Ramirez will use the scholarship to complete her degree in construction management at Central Connecticut State University.

Viking created this scholarship in 2012 to support the general community and, as much as possible, those pursuing construction-related careers. To date, the company has committed $60,000 to students. Applicants need to complete an in-depth submission and essay along with an in-person interview to be considered for the award, and they must maintain a 2.7 grade point average minimum to continue to receive the award.
