Cambridge, MA Blitzy, the autonomous software development company founded in 2023, has signed a 52,000-rentable s/f office lease at One Kendall Sq., expanding and keeping its headquarters in its origin city. The transaction is the largest new office lease completed in the city in 2026, according to JLL, which represented Blitzy in the deal.

“We’re choosing to keep building where we were founded and making an investment in the future of the AI community here,” said Brian Elliot, CEO and co-founder, Blitzy. “We’ve transformed from two HBS students with a vision to more than 200 people on-the-ground in Cambridge pushing the frontier of AI and solving enterprises’ largest software related problems. This lease gives us room to grow and represents an intentional bet on Cambridge.”

The lease covers two floors at Building 200 at One Kendall Sq. and runs five years, with Blitzy expected to take occupancy in Q2 of 2027 following a 39,000 s/f build-out.

The building is owned by ARE-MA REGION NO. 59, LLC, which is an affiliate of Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc.

Blitzy raised $200 million in May 2026 at a $1.4 billion valuation in a round led by Northzone and quadrupled its headcount in the first half of 2026.

The new space will be built to support more than 300 employees. The company is hiring across engineering, go-to-market and operations.

“We’re bringing exceptional people together in Cambridge to push the boundaries of what’s possible for our customers,” said Nick Denaro, sr. director, people & talent, Blitzy. “As we enter our next phase of growth, we believe the talent to build a category-defining technology company is already here, and we’re committed to building it in Cambridge.”

Blitzy’s investment in the greater Boston area is an endorsement and a commitment that embodies the innovation, hard work and first principles thinking of the city. “It’s no mystery that the Cambridge office market has been particularly hard hit during the last 6 years, but the green shoots are there, with AI companies like Blitzy driving that early momentum and representing over 60% of the new leasing volume across the city year to date,” said Bryan Sparkes, Senior Managing Director at JLL. Blitzy selected JLL and Bryan Sparkes to represent the company.
