Lark debuts The Drew Hotel at 3 Chilton St., in Plymouth, Mass.

Plymouth, MA Lark, the premium development and management company encompassing multiple boutique hospitality brands, debuted The Drew Hotel (3 Chilton St., formerly known as “Drew Place”) on September 24th. Designed by the team at Elder & Ash, this 25-room, year-round property is between downtown and the historic harbor front. In addition, phase two of The Drew, opening in early 2027, brings an additional 17 guest rooms along with private event space and room for outdoor entertaining
Originally built in the 1800s as a captain’s home, this three-story property was later operated as the Chilton House Rest Home. In 2024, local developer, Rick Vayo, purchased the building along with the adjacent property on Chilton St. and three additional properties on Howland St. In conjunction with the hospitality professionals at Lark and design team at Elder & Ash, the historic properties underwent a complete transformation. In addition to The Drew Hotel, Vayo also owns the new Bamp’s Toy Vault on Main St., along with the Plimouth General Store, Beartide Oyster Company, and, in partnership with his company, Megryco, several residential and commercial properties throughout the area.
Today, The Drew Hotel boasts polished, modern interiors inspired by the lives built, traditions carried forward, and steady evolution that continues to take place in a town known most for its beginnings. Guest rooms are outfitted in two distinct schemes: one with warm pendant lighting, layered floral wallcoverings, and artwork that pays homage to the town of Plymouth’s seafaring roots, and another with deep turquoise paneling, wood accents and a rich leather bedframe.
Both designs lend a true sense of place and feel comfortable, inviting, and lived in. Many rooms feature private balconies overlooking Chilton St. and glimpses of the waterfront, and the signature third-floor Lark Suite has a spacious deck with expansive water views, living room with pull-out sofa, and fully-stocked kitchenette.
In addition to Smart-TVs, high speed WiFi, EV charging stations, and complimentary coffee and tea, a curated breakfast spread from the Plimouth General Store is included in overnight rates at The Drew and often features herbs, flowers, and vegetables harvested from the hotel’s onsite garden. The Drew’s picturesque courtyard offers a tranquil gathering space for guests and features a fire pit complete with comfortable lounge seating. A subterranean lounge space is lined with deep wood paneling and a striking, black tiled wood burning fireplace.
