Boston, MA The Davis Companies (Davis) has appointed Melissa Schrock to the newly-created position of managing director of mixed-use development. Schrock will oversee Davis’ growing portfolio of mixed-use properties nationwide, supporting all project aspects including acquisition, entitlement, and ground-up development.

Davis continues to broaden its portfolio locally and nationally. Earlier this year, the firm cleared the last oil tanks from the Everett Docklands project site, marking another milestone in the remediation and redevelopment of the 105-acre site north of Boston. Davis is working with the city of Everett to envision a new mixed-use district, with a range of uses and public realm improvements contemplated as part of the long-term master plan.

In addition, Davis recently partnered in the acquisition of the 300,000-s/f retail component of Miami Worldcenter, a 27-acre mixed-use destination in downtown Miami.

“The most important resource Davis brings to its investment platform is its people. Melissa’s experience leading complex developments and mixed-use projects will be a tremendous asset to Davis’ investment platform,” said Michael Cantalupa, Chief Development Officer at Davis. “She brings a combination of strategic vision, technical knowledge and hands-on development experiences that complement an already strong team and broaden the approach we can bring to complex development opportunities.”

In her new role, Schrock will utilize her experience leading large-scale development and mixed-use projects to support Davis’ growth opportunities within Greater Boston’s market and beyond.

“I am thrilled to join Davis at such an exciting time for the firm’s mixed-use portfolio,” said Melissa Schrock, Managing Director of Mixed-Use Development at Davis. “Davis has deep experience navigating complex development opportunities and working collaboratively with tenants, partners, stakeholders and communities. I look forward to building on that experience and helping advance projects that contribute to the long-term vitality of the places in which we work.”

Prior to joining Davis, Schrock served as the executive vice president of Mixed-Use Development at HRP Group (HRP), where she led the firm’s expansion into the urban mixed-use space, supporting five million square feet of mixed-use and life science innovation projects across the country, including 776 Summer in Boston, a 19-acre site on the Potomac River in Alexandria, Virginia, and the Innovation Campus at the Bellwether District in Philadelphia. She previously worked as the Vice President of Development at Boston Properties, and Development Manager at Samuels & Associates.
