Fifty members of Consigli Construction Co., Inc.'s project management department have become LEED Accredited Professionals (AP).
The most recently-named LEED AP's include: Margaret Neil, director of project services group; Dave Curry, director of estimating; Jim Hervol, project executive; Todd McCabe, project executive; and Christopher Dabek, historic preservation specialist and project manager. Consigli now has one of the highest ratios of LEED AP's in the country, and will continue to grow its base of accredited employees towards the goal of 100% accreditation among members of the project management department.
LEED AP's are expected to have a thorough understanding of green building practices, and must possess the following knowledge: building industry knowledge and tenure in green building; familiarity with documentation process for LEED projects; knowledge of LEED credit intents, requirements, submittals, technologies and strategies within your discipline; practical experience working with multiple design disciplines; understanding of life-cycle costs and benefits of LEED; and familiarity with LEED resources and processes.
"The green building movement continues to gain momentum," said Matthew Consigli, vice president and LEED AP. "Consigli has consistently been at the forefront of LEED and sustainable construction, and the commitment by our project management staff to earn accreditation symbolizes that leadership."
Consigli currently has nineteen LEED projects either certified or registered and awaiting certification, including several SPiRiT (the Army's version of LEED) projects. Among them are the LEED Platinum certified Harvard Blackstone Office renovation and LEED Gold certified Lasry Center for Bioscience at Clark University in Worcester.
