
William Tedeschi Sr., one of the founders of Tedeschi Food Shops, died on March 6th at the age of 89.
In 1946, Tedeschi, his father Angelo, three brothers, and brother-in-law started Tedeschi Supermarkets on the South Shore and Cape Cod.
In 1961, the chain was sold to the Stop & Shop Supermarket Co., two years later the family started Angelo's Supermarket. Tedeschi became the vice president and general merchandise buyer of the chain's 20 locations in southeastern Mass.
