Pro Con nears completion on 78,500 s/f Market Basket in Bedford

The new 78,500 s/f Market Basket store located at 539 Donald St. at the intersection of Rte. 114, is nearing completion. RMD Inc. of Tewksbury, Mass. is the developer for Demoulas Super Markets Inc and the Market Basket stores. Prellwitz/Chilinski Associates Inc of Cambridge, Mass. is the project architect and Pro Con Inc of Manchester, N.H. is the construction manager for the project. "The interior of the store is complete and the shelves are ready to be stocked," said the project manager for Pro Con Inc. "The store's exterior is complete but we are waiting for the warmer, dryer weather to paint the siding. We continue to be on schedule for a spring 2013 completion date." The new store is conveniently located just off Rte. 114, near the intersection of Rte. 101. The store will feature a Market's Café, a Market's Kitchen, and an in-store bakery. Oversized storefront windows allow natural light into the building and high efficiency lighting fixtures illuminate the aisles. The building's exterior features Hardie plank siding and ground face block. DeMoulas Super Markets, Inc. operates 67 Market Basket stores throughout Mass. and N.H. In 2010, Market Basket stores were ranked among the "Top 75 North American Food Retailers" by Supermarket News. This is the second Market Basket supermarket Pro Con Inc has managed for DeMoulas Super Markets.
