Real Estate Finance Association upcoming events and save-the-dates: Golf Tournament will be July 24

Boston, MA The Real Estate Finance Association’s Spring After Hours will be held from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 at Central Wharf Co. This event, hosted by REFA’s Emerging Leader Membership, is free to all REFA members and non-members. The REFA After Hours events are designed for friends and colleagues in the commercial real estate finance industry to gather together for a night of networking and socializing in a convenient downtown Boston location.

On Tuesday, April 25, REFA will hold its second Fundamentals program focused on Tax Reform and the Potential Impacts on the CRE Industry. Speakers David Leavitt, principal, real estate funds tax technical leader at PwC and Hisham Kader, CFO at GID Investment Advisers will discuss some of the proposed legislation and share their perspectives as to what the impacts could be to real estate market participants. The program itself will be held at PwC, 101 Seaport Blvd.,  from 7:45 - 9:15 a.m.

REFA’s second Women’s Program of the year will be held at the REFA offices on May 16 featuring speaker Maura Griffith Moffatt, managing director of investments at Synergy Investments. This roundtable program will take place from 11:45 a.m.- 1:15 p.m.

Formed in 2015, REFA’s Women’s programs are held throughout the year for women to hear from prominent female leaders and discuss challenges they face as women in the industry.

“Managing The Capital Stack – Debt Financing” will be the topic of discussion at REFA’s second quarterly education program on Thursday, May 18. The program’s moderator, Peter Merrigan, CEO & founding partner, Taurus Global Real Estate will lead an in-depth panel discussion among speakers Robert Brown, senior vice president, division executive, commercial real estate, Brookline Bank; Paul Doyle, senior vice president, commercial real estate, HSBC Bank USA N.A.; Jared Lewis, senior director, underwriting, Tremont Realty Capital, a division of The RMR Group and Paul Stern, managing director, Guggenheim Commercial Real Estate Finance, LLC. This program will take place from 7:45- 9:15a.m. at WilmerHale, 60 State St.

Save The Dates:

This year’s Annual REFA Charitable Golf Tournament will be taking place on Monday, July 24 at the Dedham Country and Polo Club. New this year, REFA will be adding tennis and golf clinic components to the day!

REFA’s Annual Summer Panel and Reception, hosted by REFA’s Emerging Leader Membership, will be held at Goulston and Storrs on Wednesday, August 2. The panel program will take place from 4:15 -5:30 p.m. followed by the Summer Networking Reception.

The Annual REFA Gala will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at the Westin Copley Place.
