REFA will host a variety of programs this summer

This summer, REFA will host a variety of programs including the Annual Charitable Golf Tournament, the Annual Summer Reception and an Industry Leaders Breakfast. The REFA Annual Charitable Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, July 21 at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, to benefit HomeStart, Inc. and Project Hope. Over 130 REFA members participate in the outing to raise money to benefit the charities. Representatives from both charities will be present at the reception and dinner to share more about their organizations and how the support from the tournament impacts them. REFA is proud to support local charities like HomeStart, Inc. and Project Hope throughout the years. On Tuesday, July 23, as part of the Industry Leaders Series, REFA welcomes David Neithercut, president and CEO of Equity Residential as the keynote speaker. The Industry Leaders Series features prominent leaders with a national perspective. Past speakers included: * Tom DeSimone, partner, WS Development; * John Fowler, executive managing director, HFF; and * Mike LaBelle, senior vice president and CFO, Boston Properties. We conclude the summer events with our Annual Summer Reception on Wednesday, August 13 at Holland & Knight LLP's rooftop patio. Close to 100 REFA members gather to enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and networking in a casual and fun atmosphere. The Annual REFA Gala will be held on Thursday, October 2 at Westin Copley Place honoring Pam Herbst of AEW Capital Management. Herbst, managing director and head of the direct investment group at AEW, will be the recipient of the Robert S. Swain Jr. Distinguished Service Award. Herbst will join an elite list in the real estate community of past recipients; most recently mayor Thomas Menino in 2013; Joe Fallon of the Fallon Company in 2012, Thomas Hynes of Colliers International in 2011, and Thomas DeSimone of WS Development in 2010.
