RK Associates executes 12 retail leases during first quarter of 2010

RK Associates executed twelve retail leases in its New England portfolio during the first quarter of 2010 totaling 50,000 s/f. Tenants include Five Below, Petrageous, Five Guys Burger & Fries and Athletic Republic. These transactions bring the occupancy rate of RK's New England portfolio up to 98% leased. "Our recent success can be attributed to aggressive marketing efforts in each specific market," said Kenneth Fries of RK. "As we approach the theoretical maximum occupancy, our efforts will be focused on redevelopment projects, which include the proposed Target developments in both our Swansea shopping center and adjacent to our East Marlborough shopping center. RK also continues to seek new development opportunities capitalizing on its expertise in redeveloping older shopping centers. RK Associates is a privately held, family-owned real estate development company which currently owns over 6 million s/f of commercial space, with expertise in the acquisition, development, and management of "open air" regional and community shopping centers in New England and South Florida.
