Scaralia of Re/Max 1st Choice named 2008 RIAR president

The Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR) has named its slate of 2008 officers. Robert Scaralia of Re/Max 1st Choice in Cranston, will serve as 2008 RIAR president. The new officers were officially sworn into office on November 16 during the annual National Association of Realtors (NAR) convention held in Las Vegas.
Scaralia has been actively involved with the RIAR for more than 18 years, having served as vice president in 2006 and treasurer in 2005. He was president of the Statewide Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in 2004 and president of the Greater Providence Board of Realtors in 2001. In 2003, Scaralia received the Lear Award, the highest award given by the Greater Providence Board of Realtors for business, civic and charitable accomplishments. He was also the Greater Providence Board of Realtors "Realtor of the Year" in 2002.
Other 2008 RIAR officers include: president elect - Paul Leys of Gustave White Sotheby's Realty in Newport; vice president - Kevin Dumont of Dumont Realty in Seekonk; treasurer - Karl Martone of Re/Max Properties in Smithfield; secretary - Stephen Antoni of Re/Max Professionals in East Greenwich; and immediate past president - Cecile Cohen, GRI of Randall, Realtors/GMAC Real Estate in Charlestown.
