Susan Di Pesa, Chair of the Scituate Economic Commission

April 09, 2021 - Spotlights

What’s one thing people should know about your community? Scituate has so much to offer with it’s beautiful beaches, a large and busy harbor that serves boaters from Boston to the cape and a working fishing industry. We currently have a rezoning initiative for North Scituate Village going before town meeting in April. North Scituate promises to be a revitalized and charming small business district that will provide new housing opportunities and a vibrant work/live environment. The Greenbush line has a major stop in North Scituate, there are already sidewalks for miles in every direction to promote walkability to the area and a gateway to Scituate from Rte. 3A from the north and south. We are also collaborating with Cohasset to develop a regional sewer plan which will allow for the managed growth that is desired by the residents and town officials.

Sometimes referred to as the “Irish Riveria,” our West Cork Committee are the founders of the new Irish Heritage Trail that will pass through many of the South Shore towns. Scituate is a hidden gem located halfway between Boston and Cape Cod community whose friendly residents and visitors appreciate the natural beauty, and small businesses.
