The International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. appoints Phillips of Brown Rudnick to serve as state director

According to Brown Rudnick, Thomas Phillips, chair of the firm's Retail & Shopping Centers Practice Group, was selected by the chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers to serve as state director for Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. His term began on May 17.
As state director, Phillips will be responsible for guiding ICSC's State Leadership Committee and Program Planning Committees in order to advance the interests of the retail real estate industry in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.
Brown Rudnick has been an active supporter of ICSC for many years, and Phillips has held several ICSC leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Eastern Division Next Generation chair, where he oversaw ICSC's Next Generation program for all six New England states as well as for New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia. In addition, Phillips is the chair of ICSC's 2009 New England Idea Exchange, a two-day conference held in Boston on July 8-9.
Brown Rudnick's CEO Joseph Ryan said, "Tom's appointment is a result of his continued dedication to ICSC, and his new role will further elevate the firm's presence with owners, developers, investors, lenders, retailers and other professionals in the retail and shopping center sector."
Over 300 leaders in the retail and shopping center industry gathered at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas for Brown Rudnick's 7th annual cocktail reception during the 2009 RECon (ICSC's annual convention). As in the past, Brown Rudnick continues its tradition of creating a forum for retailers and developers to discuss real estate opportunities in Boston and across the northeast.
