The Lightstone Group has signed three long term lease renewals at Bernie's Cumberland Plaza, bringing their total square footage to 38,350 which is over 60% of the entire shopping center.
Bernie's, one of New England's largest independent retailers of audio and video, appliances, furniture and more, renewed for 21,450 s/f. David's Bridal, a retailer of wedding apparel and quality wedding dresses at affordable prices, renewed for 11,700 s/f. Unique Dental Care, specializing in state of the art cosmetic, general and specialty dentistry, has also renewed its lease for a five-year period.
"Bernie's Cumberland Plaza is an extremely popular location for retailers as it is a heavily visited shopping center," said Jeffrey Dash, vice president of leasing for The Lightstone Group. "Bernie's and David's Bridal are long time tenants who have done extremely well in Bernie's Cumberland Plaza which provides area residents and visitors a variety of retail options."
"Bernie's Cumberland Plaza continues to be an extremely successful location for us," said Mike Honeyman, president of Bernie's. "This area of Rte. 1 is superbly placed for a variety of visitors, and all shopping center tenants benefit from each other's varied offerings."
Among other tenants at the 59,100 s/f Bernie's Cumberland Plaza are Fedex Kinko's Office and Print Center, which also recently renewed its lease, LA Boxing, and Newberry Comics. In addition, the facility is shadow anchored by another Lightstone Group property, the Christmas Tree Shops Plaza, a 100,000 s/f shopping center that also houses Guitar Center and Namco, one of America's largest dealers in swimming pools, products and accessories. Both destinations are well located in the market on Rte, 1, and have enjoyed higher than average occupancies.
