Braintree, MA As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, The Peabody Companies, a group of award-winning property management and real estate firms, continues to give back through its “50 Acts of Kindness” campaign, a yearlong initiative that engages its staff and residents in volunteer service, charitable giving, and outreach among the communities it serves.
The campaign launched in January when residents of Peabody’s Borden Place in Fall River and Bedford Towers in New Bedford crafted 531 handmade items for infants at Southcoast Hospital Groups.
The spirit of giving continued in February as Peabody’s Resident Services Department donated 1,000 diapers to the Lowell Diaper Bank, helping local families facing economic hardship.
Spring initiatives included donations of personal care items for residents of Horizon House in Wakefield, an employment and recovery center that offers people with mental health challenges opportunities to achieve their full potential.
As part of the campaign, Peabody launched its “Backpacks and Bright Futures” school-supply drive in August, collecting donations and assembling 50 backpacks filled with essential school supplies for young residents of Braintree Village in Braintree and Fieldstone Apartments in Dorchester, helping students begin the school year feeling supported, prepared, and ready to succeed.

In the early fall, Peabody team members volunteered at The Women’s Lunch Place in Boston through Peabody Helping Hands. Across several volunteer shifts, employees worked side by side in the kitchen, helping prepare and serve nutritious meals to women experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. Earlier in the year, Peabody staff member Kaeleen Price completed her first Boston Marathon in support of Women’s Lunch Place, raising $26,891 for the organization.
Throughout September, Peabody staff continued to demonstrate acts of kindness by volunteering at the Greater Boston Food Bank, helping to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in its communities facing food insecurity.
Team members also participated in the annual blood drive at Braintree Village, partnering with the American Red Cross to help address the ongoing need for blood donations.
In addition, a 36-member team proudly represented The Peabody Companies during September’s Annual Dimock Center Rd. to Wellness 5K Run/2-Mile Walk. The Roxbury-based community health center is known for its deep roots in serving under-resourced communities.
As the year continues, The Peabody Companies remains committed to fulfilling its goal of completing its 50 acts of kindness, reinforcing a legacy of service that has been central to the organization’s culture for five decades.
“Our 50th anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of community,” said Melissa Fish-Crane, principal and CEO of The Peabody Companies. “This campaign is a heartfelt way to celebrate our legacy by giving back to those we serve.”
