Torphy Construction to complete 61,250 s/f Market Basket in Littleton

Torphy Construction & Development, LLC (TCD) has been awarded the contract to complete construction of the newest Market Basket supermarket. Torphy Construction has completed numerous local Market Basket projects, including stores located in Mass., N.H., and Maine. Market Basket's new 61,250 s/f store will be located at The Point, a development under construction at the MA Rte. 119 intersection with I-495. This new Market Basket will feature fifteen cash registers, a Market's CafÃ© eat-in area, prepared foods from Market's Kitchen, a coffee bar, in-store bakery, fresh made sushi bar, pizzeria, and a full service deli. This store is likely to bring more than one hundred jobs to the local area and is expected to help stimulate the surrounding economy - something TCD is proud to be a part of. Since 1917, Demoulas Super Markets Inc. has grown from a single small store in Lowell, Mass. to more than 70 stores. Recently ranked 34th nationally on Supermarket News' list of the "Top 75 Retailers and Wholesalers," DeMoulas/Market Basket reported an estimated $4.3 dollars in sales during 2013.
