Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. is proud to be celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2013. Under the leadership of owner and president Wayne Griffin, the company has been providing electrical contracting services out of offices in Holliston since July of 1978. Over the course of its thirty-five year history, Griffin Electric has grown to become one of the area's largest merit shop electrical subcontractors, serving New England and the Southeast.
Humble Beginnings
When asked to reflect upon where the company started, compared to where it is today, Griffin is the first to admit it has been a remarkable journey. In the beginning, the company consisted of five employees and focused on residential and small commercial projects. With the success of these initial jobs, the company gradually began taking on larger projects in many different markets. The versatility of the company's highly trained workforce, and its ability to succeed in commercial, industrial, educational, medical, municipal, hospitality, and retail settings, has helped Griffin Electric remain strong through changing economic tides. If the commercial market was down, projects in the educational or municipal sectors kept Griffin's skilled craftspeople working, and helped the business stay profitable.
Steady Growth
While the company expanded by diversifying into a variety of markets, it also branched out into other regions of the country. Griffin Electric slowly spread its operations into the Southeast, taking on projects and opening offices in Alabama, North Carolina, and Georgia. In 2011, Griffin Electric completed work on the Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) and Army Reserve Command (USARC) combined headquarters in Fort Bragg, NC. With an electrical contract value of over $60 million, this project has proven to be the company's largest electrical installation to date. As gratifying as this type of growth is, Griffin Electric has never lost sight of its humble beginnings, and continues to perform every job, no matter what size, with the same dedication to quality and service.
35th Anniversary
Griffin Electric has come a long way in the past 35 years, and is proud of its current rank as #16 among the Top 50 Electrical Contractors nationwide (ENR Magazine, Oct. 15, 2012). Today, the company employs over 1200 individuals, including more than 1,000 field craft electricians. The company's long term success can be attributed to many factors, and high among them are: a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality, and a determination to be the best. These important attributes, demonstrated by the company's leader and namesake, Wayne Griffin, are instilled in every member of the team. According to Griffin, "The company would not have been able to sustain such growth without the dedication and hard work of our employees; the trust of the general contractors and owners who have hired us; and the suppliers who have delivered materials within tight schedules. The strength of our company is a direct result of the Griffin team partnering with our clients and vendors to execute high quality work for superior results. Without all of them, none of this would have been possible."
