Cambridge, MA Peter Davos of Harvard University was recently chosen as an International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation Student Scholar. He was one of two graduate students in the country to receive the $10,000 scholarship and his achievements were recognized at ICSC's annual convention in Las Vegas. Valerie Cammiso, the executive director of the ICSC Foundation presented Davos with the scholarship.

Davos said, "As the son of immigrants and the first person in my family to have attended college, I feel honored to be recognized by an organization such as ICSC. I have been very fortunate to be granted the opportunities I have been given and try to capitalize on them every day.

To apply for the award, the applicant must be a graduate student studying real estate, be an ICSC member, complete an application including why they want to pursue a career in retail development, and provide copies of all transcripts and a current resume.

Davos is pursuing a masters degree in real estate and project management at Harvard's Graduate School of Design, where he is chairman of the Real Estate Club and the recipient of the Alumni Council Book Prize.

He also serves as treasurer and conference coordinator of the Harvard Real Estate Consortium, a university-wide student organization dedicated to promoting real estate at the university through speakers, conferences and social events. This past spring, the consortium helped host Sam Zell and Gerald Hines in coordination with the Harvard Real Estate Academic Initiative

Davos is currently performing a summer internship with Phillips Edison & Company, a national developer that owns over 24 million s/f of retail space, and hopes to pursue a career in commercial development after a May 2009 graduation.
