Jewett to replace HVAC system for Manchester USPS

Manchester, NH Jewett Construction Company, Inc. has recently been awarded a contract to perform work on the HVAC replacement system for the United States Postal Service at 955 Goffs Falls Rd. The architect/engineer of record is Maguire Group, Inc. of Foxborough, Mass.

Work will include the removal and replacement of HVAC and acoustical ceiling systems in the administrative and distribution areas of the processing and distribution center. The administrative offices, which encompass more than 20,000 s/f of space, will remain operational during all phases of construction. Most of the work will take place during off-hours ensuring safety.

An integral part of the project will include the abatement of existing asbestos and lead-containing materials in conjunction with the removal of the existing HVAC and acoustical ceiling systems. With the health and safety of both employees of the postal service and subcontractor personnel performing the work in mind, this project will require considerable coordination and cooperation between both parties.
