Griffin Land leases 40,344 s/f to KMC Music at Griffin Center

Bloomfield, CT Griffin Land has signed a long term, full building office lease with KMC Music, Inc., a subsidiary of Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, for 40,344 s/f at 55 Griffin Rd. South.

"Once we were acquired by FMIC, it became obvious that we would need to move off the Kaman campus. It was imperative that we find a facility within close proximity of our current office so it would not put a strain on our employees' commute. Once we visited the property at 55 Griffin Rd. South, we immediately knew that it would be the perfect fit for KMC," said Ed Miller, president of KMC. KMC's vice president of operations, Bob Crescitelli, said, "We saw incredible potential with the property. Griffin Land was able to accommodate our needs with minimal demolition and even some room to expand. Input from KMC employees was encouraged, and many of the suggestions they presented were integrated into the building, including wireless communications, design elements, furnishings, and theme. I am proud of the work that both Griffin and KMC invested into our new headquarters."

55 Griffin Rd. South is a single story first class office building located within the Griffin Center business park, a 600-acre master planned business park that was planned and developed by Griffin Land. The park is located within easy access to Exits 37 and 38 off I-91, just south of Bradley International Airport. Area amenities include restaurants, hotels and office-service businesses that are located within minutes of the park. In-park amenities include a newly opened Vito's by the Water restaurant and function facility, the SS&C SummerWind Performing Arts Center, ponds, and walking trails.

Construction of the tenant improvements are already underway, and include remodeling of the reception area, renovations to the open and private office areas, a cafeteria, multi-purpose meeting/conference room, sound room, and a photo studio. Occupancy of the premises is expected in July.

Maurice Smith of Cushman & Wakefield, exclusive leasing agent to the property, represented the landlord, Griffin Land & Nurseries, Inc. Larry Levere of Sentry Commercial, in conjunction with Gary Gregg of CRESA Real Estate Partners, LLC, acted as the leasing representatives for the tenant.
