Chelmsford, MA Sandy Brown CCIM, the broker-owner of Cale Commercial Realty Group in North Andover, has been named Realtor of the Year by the Realtors Commercial Alliance of Mass. (RCA-MA), a statewide commercial Board of Realtors. The award is the highest honor that RCA-MA can bestow upon one of its members and recognizes service to the realtor organization at the local, state, and national levels, contributions to the real estate industry, charitable and civic activities, and business accomplishments. The award was presented to Brown at the association's recent annual meeting held in Auburn.

Brown is president of RCA-MA, this year chairing its Board of Directors as well as its Executive and Business Planning committees. He began his term of office last September, after RCA-MA obtained its statewide charter from the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Last year, he served as chairperson of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR) Commercial-Investment Council. Additionally, he is a director for the Northeast Association of Realtors based in Chelmsford. In 2008, he served as NEAR Political Action chairperson, and in 2009 served on its Political Involvement Committee and participated in that Board's Strategic Planning retreat.

He is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors Board of Directors, as well as its Communications Committee and Presidential Advisory Group on Education, and this year he attended the MAR Realtor Day on Beacon Hill in Boston as well as its Leadership Training program held in Waltham.

At the national level, he serves as a member of the NAR Realtors Commercial Alliance Advisory Board, and a member of NAR's Commercial Legislation & Regulatory Subcommittee. In 2008, he attended NAR's Commercial Information Exchange Summit and attended the NAR Convention in Orlando. He also attended the 2009 NAR Midyear Legislative Meetings & Realtor Days on Capitol Hill. He is also a donor to the Realtors Political Action Committee.

In addition to successfully launching his own company, his business accomplishments include service as the newly installed president of the New England Chapter of CCIM.

He is also active in the Merrimack Valley and Greater Haverhill chambers of Commerce.

Active in civic and community affairs, Brown has long been a director and leader for both Family Services of Lawrence and the Massachusetts Special Olympics.

Brown was also honored October 19 at the MAR Annual Convention held in Worcester, along with the other 15 local Realtor of the Year honorees from across Massachusetts.
