Bioegineering Group named finalist for award

Salem, MA The Bioengineering Group, Inc., and its president, Wendi Goldsmith, were named as finalists in the 6th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business in four categories:

* Best Entrepreneur - Service Businesses - up to 100 Employees - Recognizing individual women entrepreneurs for their achievements;

* Best Overall Company of the Year - Service Businesses - up to 100 Employees: Recognizing businesses owned or run by women for their accomplishments;

The Bioengineering Group is a woman-owned science and engineering consulting and design firm providing a full range of planning, engineering, and landscape architecture services with the goal of providing sustainable development built upon a strong ecological foundation.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run - worldwide. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned," winners were recognized at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York on November 13.

More than 1,100 entries were submitted this year for consideration in 54 categories. The Bioengineering Group submitted an entry in four categories and was a Finalist in all four submitted categories.

"The continuing growth and success of our firm is truly a team effort," said Goldsmith. "Our employees understand the benefits of working in close collaboration with each other and our clients. The Stevie Award nominations are recognition of this incredible team dynamic."

"Being named a Finalist in The Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an important achievement," said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. "It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of recognition."

Doug Smith, chief operating officer of Bioengineering Group said "We are honored that Wendi and BioGroup were nominees for these national Stevie Awards. Wendi is an inspirational leader for our firm, and a great role model for young women considering a career in science and engineering."
