02-27-2014 - Save the Date! Moore's Law and commercial real estate

February 20, 2014 - Connecticut
Two great events are planned for February 27 and there is enough time to attend both!
Moore's Law is the observation that, over the history of computing hardware, the number of transistors on integrated circuits doubles every two years. The implications of Moore's Law are just beginning to have a profound impact on real estate. Whether its changes in the leasing demand for office space or the living and working patterns of millennials, the effects of technology taking place in markets today are rapidly accelerating as people are reorganizing themselves around new technology and new economic realities. Are your current underwriting standards taking into account that many of the assumptions that served real estate for fifty years are now about to change?
Join your REFA colleagues to hear Gunnar Branson, president & CEO of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM), an association that collectively oversees more than $1 trillion in assets.
Before joining NAREIM in 2011, Branson worked for over 25 years in commercial real estate, professional services sales, product innovation and marketing. In addition to holding leadership roles at companies such as GE Capital Real Estate and Heller Financial, he consulted on projects with companies such as Jones Lang LaSalle, Wells Fargo, Wrightwood Capital, Sprint, CIBC and Fidelity.
This event will be held at the Stamford Marriott from 11:45a.m.-1:30p.m.
The other event is Debt Capital Markets Update: Where is the Money in 2014?
Join your REFA colleagues to hear from today's top lenders as they discuss, in a very informal, conversational setting, what they see happening in the finance markets.
Mike Riccio of CBRE Capital Markets will moderate this lively, informative group of commercial real estate professionals. Joining us will be Bill Wrang from Webster Bank, Rob Little from Cornerstone, Chris LaBianca from UBS Securities (CMBS lender) and Jack Connelly from UBS (a capital user). Hear how they will compete to win business in 2014.

This event will be held at The Society Room of Hartford from 8:15 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Call the REFA executive office to learn more about both of these programs or to register.
