Managed by Albert B. Ashforth, Inc. - Management Services, 100 Mill Plain Rd., an 89,700 s/f building, was recently honored with the Best Renovated Building of the Year Award by Southern Connecticut Chapter of the Building Owner & Managers Association (BOMA).
The award is based on the building being at least 15 years old and having maintained occupancy during a renovation process. Some of the renovations at 100 Mill Plain included an overhaul of the building's lobby consisting of new glass, artwork, frame panels, captivated news monitor, lobby seating and a tenant directory. In an effort to contribute to the Ashforth's energy reduction plan to reduce consumption 30% by 2012 for its entire real estate portfolio, the 100 Mill Plain Rd. property adopted a new energy efficiency program through CL&P that includes new efficient light bulbs and an 80-ton McQuay roof top chiller. The renovation project also included HVAC improvements consisting of new heating coils on all three of the building's 80-ton chillers and a new chemical treatment and filtration system for the cooling tower.
Since Albert B. Ashforth was awarded the management responsibilities in early August, 2007, renovation and capital improvement projects have been on-going.
"Several existing tenants have displayed their satisfaction with the improvements by renewing their leases, confirming our dedication and commitment to continuously improve the properties we manage," said Robert Hartt, executive vice president of Albert B. Ashforth, Inc. - Management Services.
