2011 BOMA Boston Awards honors real estate excellence

The Building Owners and Managers Association of Boston - BOMA Boston (a division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board) - which represents over 100 million s/f of commercial real estate space in downtown and the suburban areas, hosted its annual BOMA Boston The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) and Industry Awards on Thursday, November 17th at the Sheraton Boston Hotel.
BOMA Boston's TOBY Awards recognizes excellence in building operations and property management. Thirteen commercial real estate properties took home TOBY Awards. In addition, nine individuals and companies were honored for their commitment to BOMA Boston and to the real estate industry. Five hundred guests were in attendance to celebrate these accomplishments.
"Twenty two much deserved awards were given out on November 17th, and BOMA Boston is proud to recognize the outstanding individuals and companies who contribute to the success of commercial real estate in the Greater Boston region," said BOMA Boston executive director, Christine O'Donnell.
The list of winners includes 13 commercial office properties in the Greater Boston area, selected from a record 39 building submissions. BOMA Boston awarded Robert Lemons of KeyPoint Partners LLC with the BOMA Boston Executive of the Year Award, and Thomas Coates of Building Technology Engineers with the Executive Engineer of the Year award.
2011 BOMA Boston president, Jeffrey Cook of Fidelity Real Estate Co. LLC said, "BOMA Boston is proud of the accomplishments of its members, and of the contributions made to the Greater Boston community through the properties they own, manage and service."

The BOMA Boston TOBY and Industry Awards are an annual recognition of the best operations and management in commercial real estate. The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards are part of the BOMA International TOBY Awards. Awards are given in 14 categories for best practices in building operations. The winners of the BOMA Boston TOBY Awards will have an opportunity to compete at the regional and international levels of BOMA. BOMA Boston Industry Awards are given to individuals and organizations who are involved in BOMA Boston, pursue continuing education opportunities and are involved in the Greater Boston community. Each individual and company in the running for an award is first nominated and then submits a minimum of two letters of recommendation from tenants and supervisors.
