If you could give advice to someone just starting out in your field, what would it be? One of my best pieces of advice for anyone starting out in this industry is simple: be on time and listen carefully. Both show your colleagues that you’re dependable and receptive to direction. This builds indispensable trust that you should never take for granted. Also, don’t hesitate to ask lots of questions, no matter how silly they might seem. Go into this industry with an open mind and a can- do attitude, and you might be surprised how far you’ll come.

Who has played a pivotal role in your development, and how have they influenced you? I can’t point to just one person who significantly impacted my professional development. I’ve been fortunate to learn from many experienced and wise individuals at Chapman. The supportive and patient culture here has allowed me to learn at my own pace and develop my own effective work methods. I owe a great deal to these people, from the construction supervisors who built my confidence with little experience to the PM staff who supported me as I gained independence in the field. I’m grateful to them all.
