What has been the most rewarding project or deal you’ve worked on in your career, and why? Working as a Wetland Scientist has given me the opportunity to see how my work impacts the real world. My position ensures that a project complies with environmental regulations and it’s interesting to see how the project must adapt to my recommendations from my findings. It can be a challenge to balance the needs of a client with the ever-changing regulations but it’s gratifying when a solution is discovered. I enjoy the variety in my day-to-day work as every project is different and there is always an opportunity to learn. No two days are the same, so it keeps things interesting!

What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate? For women who are considering a career in commercial real estate, I would say to not let stereotypes sway you away from pursuing something you enjoy and find interesting, as working in commercial real estate is quite rewarding. It is important to be confident in your knowledge and seek opportunities to increase your expertise early on in your career. I found that it is beneficial to build a strong network by finding mentors and support from other women within the field. I would also advise women interested in this field to always stay curious, continue to learn, and grow your skills.
