What current or recently completed project, accomplishment or initiative are you most excited about, and why does it matter for your team, clients or community? I am most excited about launching our Capital Project Toolkit alongside our owner’s representation work on public schools and municipal facilities. Built from real change orders, schedule delays, and value engineering decisions we manage every day, the toolkit helps owners quickly analyze cost risk, schedule impact, and scope tradeoffs. For my team, it creates consistency and faster decisions under pressure. For our clients and communities, it strengthens transparency, protects public funds, and keeps projects focused on outcomes, not paperwork.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? I wish more women knew that today’s construction industry offers leadership, technology, and advisory careers, not just field or trade roles. Women can lead owner representation, program management, compliance, data analysis, and technology solutions that shape how public projects are delivered. There is real opportunity to influence budgets, schedules, and community outcomes while building flexible, scalable businesses that create both impact and long-term financial independence.
Share one fun or unexpected detail about yourself that colleagues might not know. I have a small orchard I maintain at home including fruit trees and grapes.
What emerging challenge or opportunity do you see shaping the construction industry in the next few years, and how are you preparing for it? The biggest emerging challenge, and opportunity, is the growing volume of project data owners must interpret while schedules and budgets continue to tighten. Owners do not lack experience; they lack time and analytical capacity. I am preparing by embedding technology into our advisory services through our Capital Project Toolkit, including change order, schedule, and value engineering analysis tools. This allows public clients to identify risk earlier, validate contractor requests faster, and protect public funds without adding staff or slowing projects
What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? Do not wait to feel “ready” before stepping into responsibility. Construction rewards people who ask strong questions, understand risk, and take ownership of outcomes. Build technical credibility early, learn how contracts, schedules, and costs really work, and trust that your perspective belongs at the decision table, especially when projects affect public funds, communities, and long-term impact.
What habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated during a busy week? I start each morning by reviewing project risks, schedules, and priorities so my time is driven by impact and decisions
What is something outside of work that brings you energy, balance or creativity? Spending time in my garden and planning new craft projects at home gives me clarity, creativity, and balance.
