2026 Women in Construction: Christine McCall Martello, Consigli Construction Co., Inc.

Christine McCall Martello
Senior Project Development Manager
Consigli Construction Co., Inc.

What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? Construction offers far more opportunity than most people realize – it is not only project management or field operations. The industry values problem-solving, communication, and organization as much as technical skills. Women bring critical perspectives that strengthen teams, and there is growing support through mentorship programs and professional networks. In this industry, different strengths are valued, whether you enjoy strategy, numbers, creativity, or problem solving. There is real room to grow, lead, and shape a career that fits your interests.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? Speak up early, ask questions, and don’t wait until you feel “ready.” Confidence grows through experience, not before it. Seek mentors, build relationships across disciplines, and remember that your perspective adds value. Construction rewards initiative and reliability. Showing up prepared and willing to learn will open more doors than you expect.

What habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated during a busy week? Lists! Crossing things off gives me a sense of progress and clarity, and helps me prioritize what truly needs my attention.
